TEAM/PROGRAMME: WASH and Biogas as alternative energy source for communities Phase#3, SDA, funded by Community Partners International (CPI), USA.

LOCATION : Upazila level

POST TYPE : 100% (Project Base/ Contractual)

GRADE :Level-8

ROLE PURPOSE:

Society Development Agency (SDA) is implementing a project under its key thematic components of 3 and 5. The major objective of this project is to reducing dependency on LP gas use alternative fuel with saving environment, ensuring sustainable safe water access, WASH development, health and hygiene. The Community Mobilizer (CM) will have overall community mobilization responsibility in achieving the goal and objectives SDA-WASH and Biogas as alternative energy source for communities Phase#3 project and will serve as field spokesperson. S/he will consult with the Program Focal Persons of CPI for Management and provide support assistance. S/he will work closely with community and other stakeholders across the working area for smooth implementation and ownership building of project activities. S/he will have to build key relationship & networking with community and LG officials and NGOs working for or interested WASH and Health component. The position will be responsible for exploring opportunities to create field  level innovations in project implementation.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Project Coordinator(PC)

Dotted line management: CPI Project team and management.

Dimensions: 90% of field visit required

Staff directly reporting to this post: N/A

Functional relationship: Program Manager, Finance Manager/Officer, Training, Admin& Logistics Officer etc.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Take responsibility of respective Upazila  and union level as per plan developed

2. Collecting existing data on water, sanitation, nutrition, health support services and facilities

3. Survey for collecting village and UP ward level(Correct) data for project initiatives development

4. Achieve targeted  Quarterly/ monthly/ weekly activities with quality

5. Build good relation with community without any prejudice or partisan issues

6. Build better communication with other health & WASH support organizations and entities.

7. Conduct CYM and give instruction to community  for better WASH support and  promotion

8. Collect information of all local level WASH Facilities

9. Encourage community to establish  good WASH and sanitation  behavior using  latrine and wash facilities

10. Implement village and ward level health awareness program and training  

11. Help to develop community support group and make better communication with them

12. Do field work as per instruction of project management team

13. Do any other task assigned by Supervisor and SDA-Management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL

Working Experience: At least 3years’ experience in WASH and  Health program/ project.

Knowledge: Should have clear concept on Community WASH and  health issues and programs of Government in health and WASH facilities.

Skills:

1. Good communication skills both in English and Bengali
2. Should have ability to interpret report writing skills in Bangla
3. Computer knowledge will add value to this service
